Art on electrical cabinets
In the summer of 2026, a public art project was completed in Savilahti, in which electrical cabinets were given a new look through works by five local artists. The artworks, created using adhesive tape and applied directly to the cabinets, are located throughout Savilahti, bringing art into the everyday environment.
The artists behind the electrical cabinet artworks are Saija Vihervuori, Sari Hakala, Nea Rytkönen, Sami Korkiakoski and Iida Valkonen. The artists’ diverse working methods and means of expression are reflected in this varied collection: the works range from abstract and representational images to photographs and paintings.
The artworks were applied to the electrical cabinets by Ritmos Oy from Kuopio. The diverse collection enriches the environment, adding colour and a distinctive character to the urban space.
The aim of the artworks is to make the area more appealing and enjoyable and to strengthen the visibility of art as part of the urban environment. At the same time, the project aims to promote appreciation of the environment and a sense of community.
