Even Flow
Even Flow by artist Veera Launonen is a rhythmic mural with fresh tones that flows airily along the surface of the supporting wall that curves between the underpasses of Sarastuskaari.
The work consists of abstract colourful surfaces and black graphic forms. Underlying the visual and verbal theme of the work is the thought of how the Savilahti area is constantly taking shape and developing and how nature is observed from an urban space. In the Circle of Light project, the theme given to the former depot area of Vanha Varikko is ‘observation’.
“In this work, I explore various emotional states through mass, material and colour. When designing the work, I have also thought about the young people in the educational environment and I hope that they could hang out in front of the work, enjoy a snack or even hold a lesson,” says Launonen.
Assisting Veera Launonen with the work was Maiju Ruuskanen, a student of fine arts at the Satakunta University of Applied Sciences who was named the Pielavesi Village Artist of the Year 2023.
